So, it’s okay for Christian extremists to make lists about where you can find abortion clinic physicians’ homes and all of their personal information while these doctors are being assassinated left and right and clinics, not even, Planned Parenthoods, are being firebombed but we need to hold congressional hearings on Muslims because 19 self-described Muslims (totally rejected...

Just a quote from a fantastic feminist author, because I think it bears repeating that Ireland (a developed, fairly socially liberal country with no huge religious right wing) STILL does not provide abortions in any case, and simply ignores the fact that hundreds of Irish women are forced to travel to the UK every week to get a safe abortion.

Anonymous asked: I am curious if you have seen the story of the 'mentally-ill' woman who was ordered by a judge in Massachusetts to have an abortion? I tried to include a link to msnbc about it, but it wouldn't let me. I'm sure you could do a search and find it. Please, what are your thoughts on it?
The only GOP Debate that would be worth watching...
You know it’d be good.

There is ANOTHER GOP debate tonight?
Jesus Fucking Christ!
I feel like I’m living in some horrible version of Groundhog’s Day where everyone is repeatedly trying to out bigot the other or trying to strip the most people of rights.
No wonder January is such a depressing goddamn month. How could it not be when every other day there is a televised event on television specifically featuring the worst people in the country?

The girl had no legal access to abortion in Pennsylvania, where her parents must consent. This is the direct consequence of anti-choice zealots: taking away what dignity, respect, and alternatives left were left to a 13 year old who is being controlled, manipulated, and raped by someone more than twice her age. Way to go “pro-lifers”, what...

Rape more common than smoking in the US

[TW discussion of rape]
“Today an article published in on Significance Magazine’s web site, a publication of the American Statistical Association and Royal Statistical Society, compared these rates to those of smoking – 18.3% of women over 18 reported being sexual assaulted in their lifetime while 17.4% of women reported smoking. Let consider this as we set health...

This is not going to be a post about being pro-choice or anti-choice.
This is about something far more serious.

I am in a constant state of angry confusion when it comes to the conversations about voting on abortion. Why is this an option? I don’t much care where you stand on the topic. That isn’t what this is about.
I am talking about the actual vote. The fact...

Anonymous asked: "I really don't believe in abortion," Bieber says. "It's like killing a baby." How about in cases of rape? "Um. Well, I think that's really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I don't know how that would be a reason. I guess I haven't been in that position, so I wouldn't be able to judge that." - Oh, yes, he totally understands that...

I would hope the young women would think only for themselves but the sad reality is that some will blindly agree with whatever views their little heartthrob has. Oh, and the fact that someone on Tumblr (frogman) once defended Beebz by saying he couldn't have...

uneannee-sanslumiere asked: Just so you know, the Justin Beiber tweet is fake. I saw that circulating quite a while ago. From the 1 interview that he's been asked his stance on abortion (Rolling Stone) He said he is personally against it, but is not a female who has been in the situation so he really doesn't feel its his place to make judgements. I know of quite a few people who were personally against abortion,...
You know who is probably the least qualified...
Justin fucking Bieber.
Even if that tweet is fake (it is), I can not fully communicate just how little of a damn I could give about what a 17 year old white boy who has millions of dollars and is from fucking CANADA (where abortion is legal and unrestricted) has to say about what medical decisions I should or should not be allowed to make.

Why women have second trimester abortions
fuckyeahfeminists:
Breaking stereotypes re: abortion and showing why it is important to protect this reproductive health right.
Despite those thumb-sucking fetuses you see waved around protests, nearly 90 percent of abortions occur in the first 12 weeks of a pregnancy. It’s easy for even nominally pro-choice people to judge or shudder at the smaller number of abortions that happen beyond...

If the act of abortion falls under “women’s rights” then the act of rape falls under “rapists rights”, child molestation under “molesters rights”. If we are not willing to legalize rape and child molestation because those committing those acts should have that right, then we cannot allow women to kill their babies and call it a right. Abortion kills a unique human...

manic-6605 asked: I have a question for you. I've been scrolling through your blog a bit here, and I was just wondering, why exactly do you support pro-choice? I mean, I understand you think it's a woman's right to do as she pleases with her body, but do you think the 'thing' inside of her is a human? Or what?

Anonymous asked: I am a big proponent of the Red Cross as a regular donator and as a recipient once I recognize the value of the Red Cross. However that being said it is worth noting that the Red Cross will not accept blood from a man who discloses his sexuality as not heterosexual. The organization is trying to be proactive and protect donation recipients from the AIDS virus.

kitzykid asked: Pregnancy crisis centers are the same in Canada, so I'd guess they are probably similar in the UK too. The one down the road from me even claims to be affiliated with Alberta Health Services (It's across the street from the actual clinic affiliated with AHS).

They have the same name, and I've heard that they lie about the services they offer, so I don't want to trust the websites of the UK ones.
